EXPLORE. What an exciting word. Such potential. Such possibilities. Where will you go? What adventures will you have?
Exploring is freeing. There is no definite end destination or result. That is the point. All the great explorers of the past set off on their expeditions unsure of what they would discover. Pretty thrilling stuff.
Exploring gives you the chance to discover new places or simply get to know your favourite places better. There are many opportunities for ‘team building’ within the family and learning together. But it also gives the chance to explore your own head a little, allow a little quiet time and reflection. Exploring gives a great opportunity to use your senses. We spend a lot of our lives ‘dulling them’, filtering things out. But going out with your eyes wide open for seeing, your ears primed for excitement, your fingers ready to notice textures and your nose ready to inhale whatever is out there is pretty freeing.
‘Be a participant and not an observer’ is a phrase you will hear repeated often from us. Exploring is a fantastic example of this. Romping through the woods, den building, trail making …. simply DISCOVERING is exciting at any age. Allow yourself to see the adventure through your children’s eyes and join in. There is so much fun to be had.
This bundle gives you and your family the opportunity to explore together in loads of different ways. We are encouraging you to get out into the ‘wild’ with our forest school leader Lucy, our expert this month in the videos. But it is not just the countryside that can be explored, there is so much to discover in your own town or city. Check out our city scavenger hunts, these are huge fun and will definitely lead to some urban adventures. Our playlist this month is also another fun chance to explore – this time discovering different artists from around the world.
As always, our activities are carefully designed to have depth. Opportunities to learn more about ourselves and the other members of our family. A wonderful exercise for this is ‘Secret Spots’ which can be found in the videos and The Positive Place.
Have a brilliant time exploring with your family. Every day is an adventure after all.
